那法洛為哈佛大學經濟學博士，現任加州大學爾灣分校 Paul Merage 商學院經濟與公共政策教授。他 15 年多來持續撰寫著作批評中國對美國的威脅，並拍攝《致命中國》同名紀錄片來剖析美中貿易關係。其暢銷著作還包括《中國戰爭即將到來 (The Coming China Wars)》及《臥虎：中國軍事化對全球的涵義 (Crouching Tiger: What China's Militarism Means for the World)》。
